    • BETA Installation

    The instructions here are ONLY meant for advanced users who may be trying new beta features. Please do not use these instructions for anything other than beta evaluation, since this version will undergo potentially breaking changes more rapidly than the store version.

    1. Login to your Windows RT tablet (or Windows 8 computer).
    2. On the Start screen tap Desktop.
    3. Open Internet Explorer
      a. If you have a Windows RT device, navigate to: http://nitrodesk.com/tddownloads/tdwin/beta/install-rt.bat.
      b. If you have a Windows 8 computer, navigate to: http://nitrodesk.com/tddownloads/tdwin/beta/install-win8.bat.
    4. Select Run to begin downloading TouchDown.
    5. Provide the appropriate responses for the prompted warnings.
    6. When asked to sign in with an account to acquire a developer license you can,
      a. Sign in with your MSN/Live account
      b. Create a new account in Live
    7. Once it acquires the license, it will warn you of installing an untrusted certificate to the device. Tap Agree.
    8. The package will install.
    9. Go to the Start screen and swipe to see TouchDown at the very end.

    Running TouchDown

    1. Tap on the TouchDown app from the Start screen to launch it.
    2. Type your email address and password on the first screen, press next.
    3. If your user ID is NOT the email address, enter that and the domain name.
    4. Type the server name and press Next.
    5. At this point TouchDown will try to connect to your server. If it connects successfully, it will ask you to choose the items to sync.
    6. If it asks you for permission to run in background, approve it.

    Updating TouchDown

    1. Login to your Windows RT tablet (or Windows 8 computer).
    2. On the Start screen tap Desktop.
